Edition 11 - Acceptance

Hello Linx Media Community,

Welcome to the eleventh edition of our weekly newsletter. This week, we're diving into a topic that resonates deeply with personal and professional growth: acceptance.

Acceptance is a powerful yet often overlooked aspect of the journey towards success. You have to embrace your current position, recognise your strengths and weaknesses, and understand the realities of your situation. Acceptance doesn’t mean resignation; rather, it’s about acknowledging where you are so you can design a realistic path forward.

When we accept our current state, we open the door to growth and improvement. We become more self-aware, allowing us to set achievable goals and work towards them with a clear vision. Acceptance empowers us to take responsibility for our actions and decisions, making us proactive rather than reactive.

On the flip side, denial can be detrimental. When we refuse to acknowledge our true standing, we create a barrier to progress. Denial keeps us stuck in a loop of inaction, preventing us from addressing the root causes of our challenges. It’s like trying to navigate with a faulty map; no matter how hard we try, we’ll never reach our destination.

Denial often stems from fear—fear of failure, fear of judgment, or fear of change. However, confronting these fears and accepting reality is the first step towards overcoming them. By doing so, we can break free from stagnation and move towards our goals with renewed clarity and purpose.

To be absolutely and utterly honest, for us to act like just because we have this business and have a little bit of money coming in and we have it all figured out is not even close to the truth. If we were to act or think like this we would get nowhere in the next 6-12 months. For us to grow we have realised that we need to acknowledge that we are clearly not in the position we want to be in, and need to work hard to change this.

Perhaps something for you guys to reference, may also be in a business setting or it may be your health and fitness. Whatever it may be, if you convince yourself of a false reality that your are where you want to be (when you are not) you will never grow. If you want to get in better shape, but convince yourself its ok to keep eating KFC every second night and a some ice cream after dinner, your never going upgrade your physique. Identify your weaknesses, figure out what you need to do to get where you want to be and get after it.
